Vanguard's Descent (Demo)

High level description:

A team-focused roguelike RPG where you recruit various characters and utilize them in combat to defeat the Plagued. Journey across different dungeons and engage in combat against enemies with a unique battle system.

Playthrough:

• The full game will consist of three different dungeons. This demo will contain only one of these three dungeons.
• In the beginning of the game, select a character to begin the journey with.
• Over the course of the playthrough, new Vanguards will be recruited. Up to 3 characters can engage in combat simultaneously.
• A dungeon can consist of various stages. These stages can be: Combat, Reward, Rest, Character, and Boss.
• After completing a Combat stage, you will also gain a reward.
• A reward can be a Relic or an Amplifier. A Relic is an item that can be assigned to individual characters to give them general buffs. An Amplifier is an item used to enhance one of your character's abilities.
• Try to reach the end of the dungeon by completing all stages and then defeating the Boss.

Combat (Player):

• Characters will Basic Attack automatically.
• Press (1, 2, 3) to use the character's Skill in the respective slot. Skills will cost Energy, which automatically regenerates over time.
• Hold (1, 2, 3) to use the character's Ultimate in the respective slot. Ultimates require full Ultimate Charge, which accumulates when characters use abilities and land attacks.
• Each character also has a Focus Skill, which has its own unique activation requirements. Press R to use any available character's Focus Skill. Alternatively, you can use (Q, W, E) to activate the Focus Skill for specific characters.
• Dodge by pressing RMB (Right Mouse Button). Dodging requires Dodge Stacks, which recover over time. Dodging at the right time can trigger a Perfect Dodge, which nullifies the damage in the enemy's attack and refreshes your Dodge Stacks.
• Targets can be optionally selected by using the A and D keys, or by clicking enemies in combat.

Combat (Enemy):

• Enemies will automatically attack players. There are two types of attacks: Normal attacks and Timestop attacks.
• Normal attacks are typically weaker attacks that can occur during player combat and may interrupt your actions.
• Timestop attacks freeze time for the player, restricting them from doing any action besides dodging.

Lore:

In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a mind-controlling virus, the Plagued roam as violent, uncontrollable monsters. The Vanguard are a band of heroes with one sworn purpose: a promise to eradicate this world of the Plagued.

Recruit various members of the Vanguard and adventure across different dungeons to eliminate the Plagued enemies.
